First is educational content or videos like ‘how-to’ articles, the second type of free content is brand storytelling where you use customer stories and testimonials to promote your brand, and the third type is entertainment type of content for example influencer content on Instagram is used to promote or sell affiliate products. Lastly, you can also use paid ads through Google AdWords, Instagram Ads, and Facebook Ads to directly target your ideal audience.

Step 3:  Build an email list or retarget current audience

Email marketing is effective if you want to first build the trust of your audience before you lead them to make a purchase or visit your store. It is also effective if you need to first build your email list and customer database this is a great tool to use to encourage sign-ups and communicate brand messages to your audience. 

Another way to use digital marketing to build your business is through retargeting. You can target customers who previously visited your store or website through social media platforms to get them to visit your brand again.

Step 4: Drive sales

This is the step where most customers want to flourish in. Sales are only possible if you have the above three steps in place. A customer will buy into your brand when they trust your brand and you are marketing the right message to your customer.

It is very important to measure what you are doing so you know what works and what doesn’t. You can use this information to track your efforts and improve the whole process continuously.
